The Newfoundland Right to Life Association is a charitable organization that was formed in 1977 by a Memorandum of Association under The Companies Act of the province. The Association has its registered office in the City of St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.

Membership in the Association is open to all residents of  the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.

The management and administration of the affairs of the Association are governed by an elected Board of Directors, consisting of at least five and not more than twenty-five members. The President of the Board of Directors is the Chief Executive Officer of the Association.

Objectives of the Association 

The major objectives of the Newfoundland Right to Life Association are:

  • to uphold the dignity of human life;

  • to uphold the sacredness and invoilability of human life from the time of conception to the time of natural death;
  • to protect the interests and rights of the unborn child;
  • to hold conferences, meetings and exchange of views in matters relating to the dignity of human life;
  • to prepare and submit to public or private groups, bodies, associations or authorities, information pertaining to the above objects;
  • to co-operate with similar groups, bodies, associations or authorities; and
  • to promote and fund medical research with respect to this subject.
What we believe

We believe that:                                                                  Fetus at 8 weeks

  • human life begins at conception;

  • the right to life is a fundamental human right, and all other rights depend on it; and

  • all human beings share this right equally from conception to natural death.

Our Activities

The mission of the Newfoundland Right to Life Association is to protect human life at all stages, from conception to natural death. To this end, the Association's activities include:

  • informing the public of the humanity of the unborn child;

  • providing the facts about abortion, post-abortion syndrome and euthanasia;

  • supporting mothers during pregnancy;

  • assisting individuals suffering from the effects of post-abortion syndrome;

  • actively seeking to promote alternatives to abortion; and

  • providing educational packages to interested groups.
