The Eastern Avalon Area has adopted a policy foy paying for Wood Badge Part I and II courses and for refunds from these courses. It was felt that such a policy was necessary for a number of reasons, but the two main reasons are:

to encourage candidates to register early for training courses so that training staff could better plan the courses;

to be fair and equitable when refunding monies to candidates that find it necessary to cancel after registering for a training course.

The Training Policy regarding Registeration Fees, Cancellations and Refunds is as follows:

Part I

There is a $15.00 fee for Part I training.

Part II

There is a $75.00 fee for Part II Training. The amount of $25.00 of the paid registration fee is non-refundable should the candidate cancel prior to training. There is no refund for cancellations that occur once the training has commenced (e.g. between weekend sessions).

Other

Throughout the Scouting year other training sessions and/or workshops are held from time to time. Whether there is a fee for these sessions depends on the expenses that are anticipated to run the session. All those planning to attend any of these workshops should register before the advertised deadline and the registration fee should be paid no later than the day before these sessions begin (see Note 2).

The non-refundable portion of the registration fee is to cover expenses incurred by the training team in preparing for the training course.

If a Part I or Part II Wood Badge Training Course or other training session is cancelled by EAA training staff, those candidates still registered at the time of cancellation will receive full reimbursement of fees paid.

All fees must be paid in advance of course commencement. No invoicing for training courses or workshops will be done by the Area Staff.
