The Kayak Mud Built
I am rather new to Kayaking. I became interested in it last year, 1996, when I decided to put together
the pieces of wood my dad had left behind in the shed into a sea kayak. Actually it was like building
a kit. He had the frames made and the stringers cut. With the materials and the plans he designed I put
together a 16 foot wood and canvas sea kayak. The design is beautiful and it appears he must have
been influenced by the kayaks he saw when he lived and worked in Labrador in the
early 60's. It is a delight to paddle and steady as a rock. Click on the picture to see how I built
