It's somehow fitting that Kentucky Tundra came into existence in St. John's near where the cold iceberg-infested waters of the Labrador Current meets the warm, southern Gulf Stream off the coast of Newfoundland. It's Southern music played with a Northern attitude, and it's bluegrass that doesn't mind the cold.
Kentucky Tundra is a St. John's based 'Tradgrass' band. Their music is characterized by hard driving rhythms, nimble playing, and top notch musicianship. Their sound is a blend of styles and influences infused by each band member. It's country and bluegrass. It's blues and jazz.
