OBER-Gone?Jan. 5th, 2005:
As one of the founding members of Oberon back in 1996, I think it's time to lay the band to rest. This is not something I want to do, but I see no way out of our endless hiatus with the current members either not being available, not communicating, or simply not caring about the band. We haven't jammed since January 2004...that's a full year of inactivity! Part of the reason for the downtime was due to the illness of our rhythm guitarist, however, he's been feeling better and back to work for months. In that time he's been "too busy" to even bother resurrecting the band or even calling to talk about it. So due to these forces beyond my control, I think it's best to end it rather than drag on with the false hope that something will happen. So what's next? Well, if any older metalheads (25-40) out there is interested in starting something new, I would be interested in forming a new band. All the material I've written for Oberon can come with me and I have a bunch of other originals that never were recorded with Oberon. So if you want to play and write original metal that is a mix of traditional metal, power metal, and thrash metal (not death metal, black metal or mallcore) let's talk. E-mail me at gwaye@thezone.net.

Geoff / Ex-lead guitarist for OBERON.
