Wait a minute...

Isn't this page supposed to be about authors? Well, yes, but that page still hasn't been written, so I drudged up this old page from an old website and stuck it here. Deal with it. Anyhow, a little list of some of my favorite books:

  1. The Lord of the Rings: J.R.R Tolkien. An epic adventure... how could you not love it? Even better when you take the dive and read his other writings about middle-earth.
  2. Breakfast of Champions (and everything else): Kurt Vonnegut. I read my first Vonnegut book at around 15, and I fell in love. He had such an ability to put simply and concisely all the things I was thinking. I'm still surprised at the number of my opinions his books have influenced. I can't think of any way I can praise him more (or is that insult?)
  3. Crime and Punishment: Fydor Dostoyevsky.
  4. Notes from Underground: Fydor Dostoyevsky. I would have put the whole collection (again!) but I haven't read everything yet. I've seriously considered learning Russian so that I could read these in their original language. If only there were more hours in the day.
  5. Thus Spoke (Spake) Zarathustra: Freidrich Nietzche. Another one I would read in the original language if I had time to learn it. Caused me to entertain majoring in Philosophy.
  6. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (misnamed trilogy): Douglas Addams. Introducing some levity after Dostoyevsky and Nietzche. A hilarious set of books. And, at no extra charge, gives you the meaning of life, though you probabally won't like it.
  7. Basically anything by Margaret Atwood. Terrific poet, great novelist, Canadian.

When you get to the bottom you go back to the [TOP] of the slide.

    What's with this lumpy crap?
