Glass
These blanks are a new approach in optical glass used in amateur astronomy.
The Black Vitrified Ceramic (BVC glass) have a liquid (vitrified) condition,
that have a positive thermal expansion (the dimension increase while the
temperature raise), and also have a Crystal (ceramic) condition that have
a negative thermal expansion. The combination of both condition bring the
thermal expansion close to zero. This type of glass was tested down to
-26 Deg Celsius whitout affecting the diffraction pattern.
This glass is softer and can be polish must faster.The blanks adapt
faster to sudden change of temperature, and they are less expensive.
