Drive

Clients from North America can drive to the Island of Newfoundland. This requires a ride on the Marine Atlantic Ferry (largest ferry in North America I think) from the town of Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port Aux Basque, Newfoundland and then a 3 hour drive to our base lodge in Steady Brook, Newfoundland. The ferry crossing takes 3-6 hours and is best schedualed as a night crossing should it take 6 hours. Please make your reservations for the ferry crossing as soon as possible as the summer and fall scheduals are commonly full a month or more in advance. Call Marine Atlantic for details at 1-800-341-7981

Clients from North America can drive to Goose Bay, Labrador. This requires a ferry from Rimouski, Quebec to Baie Commeau, Quebec across the St. Lawrence then 30-48 hrs on a "Class A" gravel road. A real adventure! Bring gas cans, lots of food, first aid kit, etc. This route makes the Alaskan Hiway look like a New York freeway. Be prepared for signs like "next gas station 350+Km", and unmarked turn offs, if you can find a complete detailed map of this route please let me know.
