About Us
Bishop's Falls Development Corporation was formed in 1989 with a mandate to diversify the local economy after the closure of the Newfoundland Railway. Since then, Bishop's Falls has become a diversified centre for light-scale manufacturing with products shipped world-wide. The number of jobs created through this initiative thus far exceeds those lost as a result of the railway closure. Our successes include:
