This would be used when you have more than one person using the Internet and each would like their own private e-mail address. If you didn't add extra e-mail accounts when you originally set up your account but would like to add them afterwards, just call 1-888-49CABLE (or 753-7760 in St. John's) and make the request. Before you call you should know what you would like the e-mail addresses of the extra e-mail accounts to be. They can include up to 20 characters (not including the @thezone.net part) and may use capital letters and periods (.) as separators. For example, John.Doe@thezone.net. Changing Passwords Many users like to change the generated login password and e-mail (POP) password to something easier to remember. You can do this yourself from our web site. From our home page, click on "Service" and select "Customer Utilities". Then you can select either "Change your E-mail Password" or "Change your Login Password" from the list. In both cases you will be required to provide your user name (gaa### for changing the login password or aaa### for changing the e-mail or POP password), your old password. Enter what you want your new password to be twice for verification. Type the passwords in very carefully as they will appear as all ***** for security purposes. Make sure the Caps lock key isn't on. We would suggest that you change your password approximately once a month for your own protection. If someone found out your password they would be able to log on to your account and you would get billed for their hours. Customer passwords are the responsibility of the customer. Make sure you keep them in a safe place. When you are ready to change the password, click the SUBMIT PASSWORD CHANGE button. This change will take effect the next time you log on. Don't forget to make the change in your dialing program. Checking your Online Time (Account Usage) You can check your usage at any time from the same screen you use to change your password. The direct URL to this site is https://utils.thezone.net/utils. Note: Adding the "s" to http indicates you have requested a secure web site, this will prevent unauthorized users access to your account information. Click on the CHECK YOUR ONLINE TIME link. You will be required to enter your login name (i.e. gaa000) and your login password. You can also select whether you would like to check your usage for the current month or the previous month. When you are ready, click the GET YOUR ONLINE TIME button. The results are presented in a table that breaks down your online time by "Prime" and "Non-prime" time. If you subscribe to either the Main Zone (75 hours) or the Power Zone (100 hours) any time you log between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 7:00 a.m. don't count towards the number of hours allowed for your account. The time in the Non-prime box refers to these free hours. The total time online is in the Total box. If you would like to change from one account type to another or change your method of payment, call us at 1-888-49CABLE (753-7760 in St. John's). LOCAL DIAL-UP NUMBERS Warning: Long distance charges will apply if you select a non-local dial-up number. Cable Atlantic Internet is not responsible for any charges which your telephone company may charge as a result of you connecting to the Internet. There will be no long distance charges if you select a local number.
