1 - Explore! What's New?

Those new internet users will want to explore The Zone and find out the diverse and high speed internet access packages we have to offer. To all those who have already joined The Zone our site will be an information provider for how to best utilize your account , or who to contact to get more information. 2 - Learn To Surf

Those Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and NCSA Mosaic buttons are guaranteed to make surfing the "Net" a lot more friendly.

Netscape users will be particularly interested in the following buttons:

The Forward, Back and Home buttons are the Web navigation keys:

  • The Forward button will step you forward to the next Web page, if any.
  • The Back button will back you up to the last Web page that you visited.
  • Think of the Home button as your safety ejection button - click on this button and you are mystically returned to the place from whence you came - our friendly home page.

3 - Follow the hypertext link

What ARE hypertext links? They're the coloured text you see scattered throughout WWW pages. Hypertext links are used to connect documents together so you can explore the topic of the link. It's amazing to see the places they can lead you. For example, click on this link to check out today's Site of the Day.

4 - Try Some New Sites

You don't have to follow the hypertext links to get to a site - you can directly enter the "address" of the Web page you want. Netscape users can simply click on the Open button and enter the site address in the dialog box that is presented to you. This is particularly useful if you're reading about some wonderful new Web page and see what all the exitement is about. To check it out, point your Web browser at the site they're typing about. 5 - Search for Some New Stuff

New searching tools, called search engines, are constantly being developed for finding information. Looking for some information on one of your hobbies? Looking for the perfect recipe for Char Keow Chow? Try one of the many search engines available. Netscape users can find some tools for searching the 'Net by clicking the Net Search button.

6 - Having Problems with you Computer's Software

If you have any problems what so ever with your "The Zone" software, check out our Technical Support Page. It will supply you with support numbers where our representatives will be more then happy to help you with any problem.

Every day more companies are going online to better serve their customers. Point your Web browser at your favourite company and drop them a line. Microsoft Corporation is a busy site these days, with all the Windows 95 activity. Also, International Business Machines (IBM) have a WWW server in place. For those interested in Local Area Networks (LANs), WordPerfect or Quattro products, Novell Inc. has a site with useful information and product support. Looking for some cool sound gear? Sony has a nice Web site.

7 - Collect Fascinating Web Sites

Most Web browsers allow you to keep a list of frequently visited sites on the Internet, called Bookmarks, and allow you to add and remove sites that you want to keep handy for quick reference.

8 - Download the Hottest New Software

With your FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client (most Web browsers let you do this, too), you can access other computers all over the world and transfer software to your PC. These are but some of the great global archives:

9 - Read the News

Launch your news reader (Trumpet News, NewsExpress, FreeAgent, etc.) and catch up on the latest conversations going on across the globe. If you're interested in it, there's probably a newsgroup out there.
