What is Taekwon-Do?
Taekwon-Do is a Korean Martial Art and it is the most popular Martial Art in the
world. Tae means to Kick, Kwon means to punch and Do is the
art or way. Therefore Taekwon-Do is the “art of kicking and punching.”
Do I have to be fit to join
Taekwon-Do? NO. As a beginner
you will be slowly introduced to the various exercises and techniques. In a few
short weeks you will notice an improvement in strength, stamina and flexibility.
In addition, you will find that you will deal more effectively with stress in
your life and you will find that you are more relaxed and self-confident.
This program allows family members to train together at the same time. About 50%
of our students consist of family members. We have had many of these family
members continue with their training and reach the level of Black Belt together.
A family that kicks together sticks together!
This program is for mature adults who want to train with other mature adults who
are interested in improving their health and fitness, learn practical and
effective self-defense techniques, and enjoy social interactions with like
minded individuals. Many adults state that they wish that they would have
started Taekwon-Do earlier in their lives and many continue to train long after
receiving their Black Belt and continue to make Taekwon-Do a “Way of life”.
Many of our students are in their 30s, 40s, and 50s before they start Taekwon-Do
and many were never involved in a structured fitness program.
